A Real Flowermouse

I don´t often make canes. Fimo soft makes it nearly impossible to do without a lot of distortion. This cane is a year old and I like the colors of it. And flowers are so lovely to make in polymer clay. I envy all those making perfect flowers for their jewelry.

Anyway, I kind of like this little mouse and the ring to go with it. Since I made it for me it don´t matter that it´s not perfect.

But what does perfect mean anyway? I have never seen two flowers be completely similar to each other. That´s the thing about us too. Noone should be the same. What a boring world it would be.

We are all meant to be our own flower and grow up into the light. And there are really not any good definition for the word perfect. So let´s pursue the light and not the perfect. Because it would hold us back from expressing all that we are.

Zippery Mice

I really don´t know where the idea for this mouse came from. But it sort of came to me a couple of years ago and I had to try it out. This is a custom order for fridge magnets. I think it´s so fun to make a mouse that is totally out of the box.

A lot of people has said that my mice are not fitted to be jewelry, so with a zipper it´s even more outside the box.

It takes a little effort to get the zipper on but it´s worth it. I enjoy making these. They make you look a little closer and think about what is going on. A mouse with a zipper on it´s back. Well, anything is possible. And noone can say that it´s right or wrong.

Just like we are. Noone can say that what you are, what you do or think is wrong. As long as you don´t hurt anyone. So let´s be our selves. That´s the most fun part of living anyway. And it makes us happy too.

A Family In A Necklace

A custom order which I had great joy in making. The names of a family is on the hearts and I took up the colors from the hearts in the focal with a retro pattern.

The main color had to be turquise with some purple in addition. I had a lot of freedom and that made it even more fun to make. All made in polymer clay.

This is a very personal jewelry and noone other than the owner can use it. To be able to make something so special to someone is a great honor. Thank you for the trust you gave me.

The word family means different things to different people.

The most important thing is to be with people who wants you to grow.

Who loves you for who you are. No matter what you call it.

Like George Eliot said: What greater thing is there for human souls than to feel that they are joined for life - to be with each other in silent unspeakable memories.

Peanuts Gone For Jewelry

What is it about nuts? I love making them in polymer clay like these peanuts. I think it´s about the form, the texture and the fact that you can make them look so real with polymer clay.

And inside you´ll find lovely nuts. At least in the real ones.

It was a bit hard to get the mould right for these. But I think the nuts came out nice. The ring is rather large, but I like large jewelry.

I´ve never cared much about department store jewelry.

The fact that one piece is made in millions for people to wear all over the world seem boring to me.

I´m more into jewelry that are not typical. That surprise me and make me think outside the box.

Just like meeting a lot of people trying to be the same with this invite: Come as you are and become like us!

It´s much better beeing with people who are themselves as they are. They make you relax and feel good. Then you can be yourself as well. Freedom in a nutshell - maybe a peanut.

Take care - and have a lovely day.

Mice Dressed In A Rainbow

It´s the second time I make this necklace. The first one came to life when I first started working with polymer clay. Now I made my rainbow mice with texture ala Bettina Welker which you can find in her book.

Thank you to dear Marie for her article about this necklace. Check out her blog here.

I loved making this so much. I spent hours texturing and trying to find a way to get the mice as I wanted.

I wish I had a little more luck with the painting. BUT that don´t really mean anything.

It´s the journey, the feeling of creating, seeing it all come together and enjoy it. And not to be concerned about what it all end up with.

Not anyone can take away the joy you´ve had.

I could nearly feel the smell of spring rain, the sun coming out and dry it all up and the nice touch of summer on the way.

Well, if that isn´t the best I don´t know what is.

Seahorse For A New Home

This guy is swimming away for his new home. I enjoyed making him so much. He came to life from polymer clay between my hands. And sometimes I get so fascinated about what you can do with this medium. There are no limits.

It´s really something to be able to create whatever it is. I´m pretty sure that creating keeps the mind going in a positive way. It gives hope, joy and you find a new site of yourself for everyone to see.

I honor my ability to create every day. I´m so thankful that I found polymer clay. And it´s always the little things that matter. This seahorse made me see that. And the girl ordering the seahorse was so happy with it.

Find a little thing to be happy about every day. Write them down - and after a while you´ll see that you have a lot more good in your life than you thought. Take care - and have a lovely day.

Fly Me To The Rainbow

Some wants to be flown to the moon. I would like to sit on this fellows back to meet a real rainbow and find the treasure. Like beeing in an adventure and just go beyound imagination.

I like this casual look with something to it that do not fit into a fashion show.

I love making rainbow skinner blends and turn them into birds, sea horses and other strange things in polymer clay.

In fact I would love it if the world was a little more colorful and bright. So I do my best to make it that way.

And that is all about life. To find your own voice and color in your own speed.

To not let others tell you that what you should or should not do. That is real freedom - to don´t care and keep going.

No matter what.

Create A Touch Of The Sea

I´ve been strugling making my sea urchins. Now that Fimo soft has turned into chewing gum I had to find a different way to make them (I´m about to change brand).

The hardest part was to get the sticky soft clay out of the mould. But now I tried another way - and I´m really happy with it. It may not be a new method to you. But to me it was something I haven´t thought about. So, I want to share it with you.

Make a sea urchin
Take a real sea urchin and make a mould out of it. Use a mold compound you can put in the oven. I use amazing moldputty. Roll the compound carefully on so the urchin don´t brake.
Mould: The mould on the left and the urchin of polymer clay after baking. Now it´s ready to be painted or what ever you like.

When the mould has hardened you carefully take out the real urchin. Now take your polymer clay and press it into the mould. I always make my urchins hollow.

Put the whole thing in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes. Cool it down before taking out the urchin.

Carefully take out the urchin from the mould and bake for another 30 minutes.

Cool down and your bead is ready to be painted or what ever you want.

Good luck! Feel free to leave a comment if you have any questions.
