Norwegian Case Of Nuts

Not everyone goes to London with bags of nuts in their luggage. Well, I do. Quality is one thing. Another, that it is not that easy finding proper nuts in small stores in central London. Believe me, I have tried. And since the funniest thing to do in this large city is feeding the local wild life - one has to be prepared.

So I was. And what a fun thing to bring out those bags of nuts and suddenly a lot of squirrels and birds shows up to get some fast food lined up in my hand. The squirrels simply picks the nuts from the hand. And so do the birds. I think it is extraordinary to experience that. So close to squirrels that normally hide where I live.

I just wanted to share a few glimpse of that - and wish you a lovely weekend.

All It Takes

Just a little sunbeam is all it takes. A little warm light on a gray day. We have had this long and cold winter and it never seemed like spring would ever come.

Finally the sun is out where I live. I wanted to celebrate spring and dived into my stash. I found this yarn from Fleece artist and thought it would look nice.

Found just the perfect beads for the scarf.
But it was a bit too muddy in a way. It needed some light, some color and some sparkle. So I added a wonderful orange light and called it sunbeams. Also found in my stash. And had to order another skein to get the result I wanted. So much for stash diving. LOL!!

I like the way the two colors make a whole of the scarf. And I get a lot of comments on it.

I added stripes evenly while knitting the scarf and knitted the last part in orange. This actually works. I could do that again.

The Hitchhiker pattern is just so much fun - but in the end it gets a little boring.

After all I have already knitted three of them. Anyway - I am sure I will knit more...

A great mindless knit actually. And it is lovely to wear. Some sock yarns are cold but this one is warm and soft.

So, there you have it. Have a lovely weekend - and find a sunbeam to warm you up.

The Cats Are Out Again

I never took the time to get some photographs of my huge felted cat sweater. Well, here it is having a stroll with me on a beach near by. It really is nice to wear - but it has absolutely no figure flattering elements. A good thing that I do not have to go on a cat walk. LOL!!!

When I knitted this I used too large needles, knitted a size too big and ended up with a sweater that was twice as big as the felted one in the photos.

I can not find the photo taken before felting. But is was huge.

The pattern is from the 90´s when sweaters were supposed to be a little tent. So, I stormed into my LYS and asked for help.

They found out that I should put it in the washer on 30 degrees and it worked. Half the size and useable for outside walking in early spring and autumn.

I knitted with Rauma Finull and Pt2. And used up a lot of stash.

This is from the time when I thought that white is the best color to show off other bright colors. Which is totally wrong. A good thing about learning is that it never stops.

I love the pattern and it makes me smile. That is why I recently made a jacket from the same pattern which is some sizes smaller. And of course in other colors.

A Growing Rainbow

My first lace shawl is growing slowly and with a lot of hearts. It is so much fun knitting this. That also means that a lot of other projects are resting.

I do not dare find out how many it is - after all progress is everything. At least in some of them.

It is much easier now that I know the pattern. A great pattern for a total beginner in lace knitting.

I started another scarf for a mindless knit.

I always have a mindless knit to take with me or to knit while watching TV.

Right now I am a little bored with it and have decided to finish it as soon as possible.

Planing to use up the two skeins of sock yarn from Fleece artist.

The colors are a little boring, so I added some bright orange.

I am going to finish it with that color and add tassels in bright orange.

It doesn't matter which side of the fence you get off on sometimes. What matters most is getting off. You cannot make progress without making decisions
