I have A Shawl To Block

The shawl will be washed and blocked and will look much better after that.
I am so happy about my first ever lace project. Why did I ever doubt that I could knit lace? It is not that difficult, just another way of knitting that I am used to.

I started the project two months ago but I have not knitted every day. It was so much fun. What a lovely feeling to have done it. The pattern reveals a lot of hearts that will be much more visible after blocking.

The shawl is going to be washed and blocked later - as I am using it for a very special occasion. I used up 290grams of yarn and it ended up in a very big shawl. I want it to be big - it is going to keep me warm next winter as well.

I have some lovely knitting friends who have guided me when I was lost about pattern, size and cast off method. I want to thank them all for cheering me up - I could not have done this without you!!

Giving You Lifelines

I love knitting stripes. Never seem to get enough of them. After I posted my scarves made from stash yarn I have gotten a lot of emails from knitters wanting to know the pattern.

I finally got my yarn together and made up the pattern. In order to do that I knitted a new scarf and called it Lifelines.

I was inspired by the tiny line of orange light in the horizon when the sun rises. I little line of assurance that the sun always rises with hope of a new day.

The bright tomato color from Madelinetosh sort of reminded me of that line together with the Noro Silk Garden Sock yarn.

The scarf is knitted from one end to the other. You knit two alternating rows of your preferred color. Mine is 270 x 52cm long.

I used up two skeins of Noro and 1.5 skein from Madelinetosh.

You can actually use any kind of yarn weight for this project. Use up a lot of stash or get yourself some favorite skeins.

I hope you like my new design. It is both in english and norwegian.

Waves Of Wool

There were several difficulties with the beginning of this scarf. First I thought there was an error in the pattern. I should have read it a bit closer... Gosh...

I also took some time to find the right colors for this scarf. The pattern suggested Kauni effektgarn in the colors EQ and EF. A short look on that EF color made me try to find another color. I thought I did. The first time I went for EZ. That ended up in a muddy color all together. I unraveled.

Next color was a solid magenta color in Finull yarn. It did not give the wanted effect. I throw it all away totally frogged. But one night, right before I went to sleep, I found out that I should try out that EF color the next day. I unraveled my second attempt and hit the needles again. And so far it actually looks good. I am so amazed by that. A fun knit!!

I am very excited to see how the colors will work when I knit more. here
