The Birds Are Listening

I must be more than ready for spring right now. I simply had to make these polymer clay birds.
I am not completely satisfied with their shape though.

I have to work a bit on them because it seems easier to me making them a bit bigger. It has always been like that - and it does not bother me that much.

We all have areas we manage better. Bigger objects are obviously one of mine.

I am not that good on small objects - my fingers seems too big... But the birds seems to work anyway.

The colors are great and they look kind of fresh dangling under my ears.

I tend to make anything creative into several colors. Always nice to choose from when wearing something colorful.

I tried stamping on the orange pair and it came out fine.

The words can not be that long though. These birds are inspired by the ornaments I made for gifts.

And I must add: I am knitting a long sweater in addition to the birds making. I will show you later - right now the photos does not compliment the sweater.

Get out and spread your wings.
And make so much wind, that the ones who do not like your movements will be blown away

  1. They are so cute. I had a go at making little birds and it is not as easy as one would think - some were too tiny and some were too chunky. I will have to have another go. I adore your bright colours - perfect for summer

  2. I like them a lot. You are an artist. I think you managed great with these tender little things :) And I like your own sentence : I read it this morning and it gave me the strength and the guts not only to go to the hairdresser (I do not like hairdressers normally), but I did something totally different with my hair, that I like a lot, but did not dear to do. So I spread my wings a lot and made lots of wind.... :) Thank you and happy weekend,

  8. Det er en farge- og skaperglede i det du lager. Herlige små fugler. :)
Men er de store? De skal jo synes der de henger?

    1. Tusen takk Helle - jeg blir virkelig glad for å kunne bruke farger!!!! Du ser på bildet med fuglen i øret. De er ikke veldig store for å unngå for tungt anheng for ørene :-)

  9. Så fine de ble, og fargerike, som alt annet hos deg. Til å bli i godt humør av!

  10. Such cheerful little friends, I imagine them singing softly in your ears all day. They would cheer me up on these gloomy winter days.

  11. You are the first and only polymer artist on my blog list, and I am in awe over what you can do with clay!
One day, when my classes for the season are done and our house has been emptied and demolished and life goes back to normal-ish, I would love to do a small swap with you just for fun - If you are up for it. Knitting, polymer or both from you, and something fabric from me - just a fun little project to hang with my friends art from abroad the world. Sounds
    Interesting?
