Yarn Ball Fun

When I put on my new scarf I smile. It is like this giggling feeling inside as if I was a little girl and playing around and getting somthing creative out of just playing.

Knitted and felted bracelets goes great with my scarf.
As I laid eyes on the scarf for the first time I also saw that the pattern was in Finnish.

Google translater can be of help - and it was in some extend.

But not all the way to get knitting the scarf. I asked the designer and she was very helpful.

After just a few days the scarf was on Ravely and translated into english as well.

She hit a nerve with her free design.

It is an easy garter stitch knit with pom poms on both ends.

I manage to find enough yarn from one color in my stash - although it had different dye.

I did not bother with that - it makes the scarf a little more alive.

And to be honest you only see it if I hold the whole thing out in front of me.

That may not be the way wearing a scarf... LOL!!

Anyway, I love this scarf. It is really nice to wear and the design is easy.

And those pom poms are yarn eaters as well. Getting use of some stash.

I of course added some color to it. I have to knit more of this design. It is a great gift as well.

Nothing is like knitting and playing at the same time. I do not think it will ever change.

And I am thankful for that.

Is This Stripe Mania?

Stripe mania does this to people.. LOL!!!
For some reason stripes gives me so much pleasure that I could knit almost anything if it only had stripes. Apart from a one piece.

This stripe mania has taken over me and my needles completely. It is just one more stripe. And another. And another.

Lately I found out that I should use my stash of hand painted yarn. And I have some of it - too much really.

This excitement for the colors and not the quality made me do it - buy it, that is.

Anyway, I knit stripes with it. Not useable for sweater and such garments.

Pills so much and loose shape and all that. So, I knit scarves. A lot of them.

I have two three meter long scarves from that stash - and one more on my needles.

I tell myself it is all just for getting that stash out of the boxes. But it is not. I love it - thats the truth.

See the colors, the variegated pared with a solid and add just a new color and see what happens.

That is what this is about - and it makes knitting so much fun.

How many stripy scarves do I need? How many stripes is enough? You tell me...

The Flock Is Out Of The Skein

Unraveling my first attempt on my bird shawl was a very good idea. Finally it is growing and I see the colors, the birds and the work going into this. It is so much fun to knit this that I almost forget knitting anything else.

The excitement lies in how the shawl will look when I cut it open. As the colors are blending, the pattern emerge it sort of live its own life. Very exciting to just let go and rest in the prosess.

A very long prosess. The rows are getting longer and I now use 100cm circular needle for it. No fear, I have a circular needle on 300cm lying ready... LOL!!!

Wish you all a good sunday with rest, knitting, creating and eating chocolate. And again, thank you all for your comments and encouragements. So happy for it!!!
