Completely Starstrucked

Beginning of a large shawl.
Only just one round. And another one. That joy of just knitting every round with such pleasure is the most important feeling when knitting a large project. If it starts out as fun - it can only get better.

First time I lay my eyes on this shawl was on a blog. The pattern was up for free only a limit of time and I downloaded it at once. But it took some time to get started.

I have never knitted with Kauni before. But the fact that the long color shifts are adding life to the garment is the greatest benefit. Since the back ground color is a bit thinner I had to go down to 2mm needles.

I started the project with the intention of increasing in the steek. But it did not look good so now I am following the pattern. But I started increasing on all rounds earlier in order to avoid that long part in the beginning without pattern.

So here I am - knitting with a smile on my face. Seeing the colors emerging from the skein. Oh, happy happy knitting.

I will not think about that there will be over 500 stitches at the end. Or that I have to pick up a million (feels like it) stitches for the edging. Right now it is pure joy.

Too much time goes into worrying about things to come. And it takes the fun part away in the present moment. Right now I am just star strucked.
