The Cats Are Out Again

I never took the time to get some photographs of my huge felted cat sweater. Well, here it is having a stroll with me on a beach near by. It really is nice to wear - but it has absolutely no figure flattering elements. A good thing that I do not have to go on a cat walk. LOL!!!

When I knitted this I used too large needles, knitted a size too big and ended up with a sweater that was twice as big as the felted one in the photos.

I can not find the photo taken before felting. But is was huge.

The pattern is from the 90´s when sweaters were supposed to be a little tent. So, I stormed into my LYS and asked for help.

They found out that I should put it in the washer on 30 degrees and it worked. Half the size and useable for outside walking in early spring and autumn.

I knitted with Rauma Finull and Pt2. And used up a lot of stash.

This is from the time when I thought that white is the best color to show off other bright colors. Which is totally wrong. A good thing about learning is that it never stops.

I love the pattern and it makes me smile. That is why I recently made a jacket from the same pattern which is some sizes smaller. And of course in other colors.

  2. My 5 year old son is standing next to me when I am reading you blog. His words : 'oh, who is that lady on the pictures with that great sweater? Can I meet her, so I can see her in real life and tell her this cat sweater is sooooooooooooo beautiful and she has to keep it forever. ' (he has great taste :) )
