Am I Getting Over It?

Well, I have had the urge but not done it. I have thought about yarn combinations and colors but not done it. Am I getting over my garter shawl addiction?

I have no idea, actually. I just know that saying never is a fairly stupid thing when you get older. You simply know that it will never hold up..

Anyway, I just wanted to get it all out there in blog land. These two shawl are knitted a while ago. The turquoise one was a real hit.

I just love the outcome of the colors and they suit me if I may say so. I used Kauni effektgarn for it.

And some bright turquoise kid mohair I found online called Ice yarn. Not an easy color to come by so when I found just the one I went for it.

I loved the color but the quality is rather not preferable.

It feels a bit synthetic, but paired with Kauni that feeling dissapear and leave the shawl soft and lovely.

The other purple shawl is knitted in Holst supersoft and plum mohair. Just to try out some purple and I soon found out that a touch of orange was just what I needed.

They are both that mindless knit casting on three stitches and increase a stitch every other row. I have fallen in love with swarovski faceted beads and tassels. That gives the shawl the extra bling without being too much.

So, there we have it. Six garter shawls done. Should I go for more??

  3. Man må aldri si aldri!!!!

  6. They are wonderful and I think you should go for more if you enjoy it. It seems our journeys are a bit similar, since I restarted crocheting and knitting some years ago after a 30-year pause. My polymer clay addiction suffers a bit but I am trying to juggle everything. Thanks for your comment on my blog - it meant a lot since I forget to enjoy the artistic journey way too often.

    1. Thank you so much Kristina!!! It is not easy to find time for everything. But with polymer clay it is hard work getting to know the medium. And it sort of sits in ones fingers - but of course it needs attention to develop. The most important though is to have fun and do what you like.
