This is like instant coffee. But do not add boiling water. Just add some knitting needles, a mitten pattern and a little time. Color knitting for the lazy is sometimes just perfect. Two skeins of Kauni rainbow yarn and that is it. No diving into stash - that can take some time... And no thinking of which color to use when.
First rainbow project with this yarn. For a perfect color change I would prefer changing the colors my self, but this is really nice. The colors works together all though they do not give that complementary effect I love so much.
Actually, this scarf is an excellent excuse to start a new tube scarf. I love knitting them so much - and the more pattern the merrier.
I am giving a lecture about using colors in knitting and this is an example to show that you do not have to even bother the brain with color wheels, swatch knitting and searching your stash. Simply take two skeins of Kauni and you have a colorful garment to all the grey, black and beige we are told to knit in.
I found a lovely mittens pattern on Ravelry and it works so well in the scarf. And the best is that it is so much fun to see the colors coming out of the skeins. It changes all the time and I have no control over it.
I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn´t say any other way
- things I had no words for
